GOOTH (Youth) Ministry

GOOTH

We have an active and strong youth group, who we refer to as GOOTH (“group of youth”). This spiritual family of our middle school and high school youth transcends the boundaries of school, activities, and geography. Through service, scripture study, and fellowship, they form life-giving relationships with each other and the adults who volunteer with them.

If you are wondering what they do regularly, here is a snapshot:

In the summer, our GOOTH regularly attend Massanetta Middle School Conference and Montreat Youth Conference, affirming their sense of community, love, and faith. Also in the summer they participate in mission initiatives both local and outside of our city.

Throughout the year, they participate in different religious education opportunities, GOOTH Eats, Souper Bowl of Caring, Blessing of the Backpacks, Blessing of the Animals, and food drives. They take fun outings together such as hiking trips or to the Carolina Classic Fair.

Some ways they serve within our church body are by making casseroles for our Casserole Ministry and assisting at Vacation Bible School. Each year they also plan, prepare, and completely lead a worship service on Youth Sunday, connecting to the congregation as a faith family and sharing their own spiritual journeys. Our GOOTH are truly amazing!
